Reading group 5 July

Reading group

A reading group in philosophy of physics has been organised by Valeriya CHASOVA and Alexandre GUAY at the Université catholique de Louvain during the academic year 2016-2017. The topic of the year is time in physics: classical mechanics, special relativity, general relativity, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and quantum gravity. The full program can be found here.

A final meeting took place 5 July 2017 from 10:30 to 12:30 AM, just after the two-day conference had endedDavid WALLACE presented his views on time in statistical and quantum physics and answered on the questions of the participants. An associated reading was "Probability in Physics: Statistical, Stochastic, Quantum" for a public with a background in philosophy of physics or "The Nature of the Past Hypothesis" for those unfamiliar with the topic.

The venue was in the building opposite to the conference venue. See Map and venues for details.

To register we required to send full name and affiliation to des2017 at sciencesconf.org and mention in the letter that one is willing to attend the reading group.
